Company Background

San Teh was incorporated in 1979. It started as a component manufacturer for the electronic industry. Over the years, the Group grew to become one of the largest keypad manufacturers in the world. In 1991, the Company was listed on SESDAQ and was promoted to the Mainboard of SGX-ST in 1993.In 1993, the Group diversified into the building material business and commissioned the construction of a cement plant at Fujian Longyan. In 1995, it expanded the building material division by setting up a PVC pipes and fittings factory in Nantong. In the same year, the Group further diversified into the hotel business. In 1999, it divested its keypad business and exited from the electronics industry. In 2002, the Group ventured into property business. Subsequently, the Group expanded the building material business by setting up two cement plants and one PVC pipes and fittings factory in Yunnan, and built a resort hotel at Suzhou. In 2011, the Group divested its cement operation to focus on its property, hotel and PVC pipes and fittings businesses. In 2012, the Group embarked on three property projects in China. Headquartered in Singapore, the Group is principally engaged in hotel, property and PVC pipes and fittings businesses.The Group owns and operates two hotels. One is a 255-room four stars hotel located in the city of Nantong and caters mainly to business travellers. The other, which has 191 rooms, is a resort hotel overseeing the Lake Tai Hu in Suzhou. The Group now has three property projects: (i) Shanghai Anting Santeh Commercial Plaza project consisting of a business hotel, SOHO apartments and a shopping mall; (ii) Fujian Anxi build-and-transfer residential property project; and (iii) Dali Heqing property project to develop residential and shop units.The Group manufactures PVC pipes and fittings at Nantong and Dali of China. Its products are mainly used in the building, sewage, water supply and telecommunication sectors. Its total pipes production capacity is 30,000 tonnes per year.
