Getting bang for your buck with banks' higher-interest products

17 Jun 2019 09:00

By Sue-Ann Tan

We can all get more bang for our buck if we choose the right bank and reap the benefits on offer.

The money we leave sitting in a bank account can expand substantially if we take up some of the options on offer.

Banks have been enhancing these offerings of late, paying higher interest rates or giving more tiered benefits to cater to different customer needs and demands.

Take DBS Bank. It boosted its DBS Multiplier programme by doubling the balance cap for bonus interest from $50,000 to $100,000 in May. The peak bonus interest rate for balances over $50,000 was set at 3.8 per cent a year.
