Company Background

SDB began in 1962, when Mr. Teh Kien Toh incorporated Selangor Dredging Limited. In 1964, the company changed its name to Selangor Dredging Berhad upon listing on the main board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. For over two decades, the company's sole business was tin mining, operating two dredges in Dengkil. Selangor Dredging Berhad made history by becoming the first Malaysian company to construct and operate a dredge. Then in 1971, the company began constructing its second dredge, which became the largest and most advanced dredge in the world. In 1985, Wisma Selangor Dredging, the company's first property was completed and immediately became one of the most prestigious corporate addresses in Kuala Lumpur. In 1997, SDB�s hotel property was completed. After a period of consolidation which completed in 2004, SDB is now fully a property company, principally involved in hotel, property management and leasing and ultimately property development. SDB Properties, SDB's wholly owned property development arm has come up with innovative designs and seeks to deliver quality goods and services to all its purchasers. Like its property development arm, the hotel property also has created excitement in Kuala Lumpur by being the first Malaysian owned and managed boutique urban resort.
